I’m a super last minute packer and I hate to check my bag because I feel like I’ll be that one person that doesn’t get it back. That’d definitely be me.
So, I usually bring a carry-on and it’s a literal nightmare – not for me, but for whoever is watching me – pack. Ultimately, the products I bring have to work well on my skin & hair. Airplanes make my skin dry and my hair is prone to dryness anyway. So I stick to anything moisturizing and mainly natural, usually derived of oil or salt, but not sticky or too dewy.
Here are some of my favorite travel size goodies I packed for my trip to Tulum:
For my hair, I love Ouai’s Wave Spray. My hair naturally curls from the salt water and the wind off the shore so I like to amplify the beachy waves with a quick spritz of this spray.
Since I’m going for the big-hair look, I tend to use volumizing shampoos and conditioners, and I happen to love Rahua products for their earthy smell and silky feel.
If I get a good healthy glow, I’m less concerned with caking on the makeup, especially while I’m soaking up the rays. But if I’m using little to no makeup, that means I need good skincare. That’s why I love Tarte’s Maracuja Oil. The vegan serum gives my skin a nice radiant glow without leaving it greasy.
After flying, my skin gets super dry, so I love Farmacy’s skin salve because it repairs dry or chapped skin naturally and I <3 anything honey (which is also antimicrobial.)

While we’re talking earth-inspired jewelry, I have to introduce you to one of my favorite jewelry lines. ♥
Meet Ettika: an LA-based, handmade Boho jewelry brand that continues to make waves. Inspired by the beachy landscape of its Southern Californian roots, Ettika’s spirited and sophisticated accessory line is making a splash everywhere – from the glossy pages of high fashion magazines, like InStyle, to the adorned bodies of spirited festival-goers. (We miss you already, Coachella.)
From beaded chokers to bold rings, there’s no question that Ettika’s pieces are making a statement. ‘Ettikanistas’ everywhere, including Hollywood celebs like Sarah Hyland, are falling for these playful, yet delicate, accessories. And it’s no surprise why.
Ettika’s free-spirited, fun-loving vibe is hand-woven through each of its unique, well-crafted pieces.
Though Ettika has tons of edgy, Boho-inspired pieces to choose from, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the Eyes of Mars Earrings in Black & Gold and the Call Me Maybe Choker in Onyx and Gold. (I DID have a thing for that unrelenting Carly Rae-Jepsen song.)
Coachella might be over. But the rebirth of the Boho movement is just getting started. While Ettika’s effortlessly beautiful and beachy jewelry continues to trend, so does its belief, that fashion – in all forms – should represent the infinite creativity, playfulness, and sparkling spiritedness in all of us.
